Ball's Mill was named for the owner of the mill that operated on Ball Mill Creek. Ball's Mill was about 12 miles south of Columbia, Mississippi between Highway's 35 and 43.

I do not know which Ball operated the mill. This is a link to Sampson Edward Ball whose descendants did settle in Marion County, Mississippi.
