The Lemuel Lewis Family

 

      Lemuel Lewis (b.9/8/1804-d.7/16/1887), son of Benjamin (b.1764-d.1821) and Celia Martin Lewis (b.1762-d.1822) born in Lenoir Co., North Carolina. Family moved to Robeson Co. when he was and infant and parents finally settled in Rebecca County, North Carolina.  In 1826 he married Mary “Polly” Williams (b.4/28/1810-d.4/28/1864), daughter of Giles and Sallie of North Carolina, on August 3, 1826 in North Carolina.  Both Lemuel and Polly are buried in the Lewis family cemetery in the Shiloh community of Marion County, MS.
