Hi,

I just found your website and it is great. My husband and I have purchased the “old library house” in Columbia and are in the process of restoring it. I’m looking for any pictures of the house (particularly old ones) and any history about the house and its original owners (Dr. Isaac Archibald Shelby and his wife). I would also love to get any books on the history of Columbia or Marion County. I’ve been to the library and found a few news clippings when it was the library (1956 – 1975) that I copied. I’ve also been to the courthouse and traced back all the owners. My husband has gone through quite a few records (census, etc) on the internet and found that he is distantly related to Mrs. Shelby. Anyway, if you have any information, it would be much appreciated.
